As I've wrote previously, my last week end plan was a dvd marathon and this is what I watched :
- The Photograph
it's the only local film that made me actually cried(besides "Unyil" if he was chased by the bad guy when I was little hehehe....)
Played by Shanty (Sita,25, karaoke singer & call girl) & Lim Kay Tong (Johan Tanudjaya or knwon as Mr Tan, 50, the photographer), there are lots of other local known stars : Lukman Sardi (a loan shark who became Sita's pimp), Indi Barends (a tailor who's Sita's friend and previous land lord), Dorce, Nicholas Saputra (a crossdresser who applied as mr Tan's assisstant) & Indra Bekti (a color blind who applied as mr Tan's assisstant)
Sita has to move from her friend's house and found that Mr Tan is renting his attic room. Mr Tan is a reserved person where many people called him weird as everyday he prayed and gives offering on the same rail road. As time passed Sita gets closer to Mr Tan and came to know about his past that his wife & son was killed by a train on the day he tried to ran away from his family as a father,a husband and a carrier of his family name. Mr Tan is now searching an assistant that one day will become his successor of his business as a photographer, but this has to be in the gender of male, as he had known that his illness has got worsen and he has only little time.
The only thing that made my eyebrows up a little bit is at first I didn't know whether Mr Tan was supposed to be chinese or a japanese man, becoz of his accent was more a japanese man than a chinese man.
- Sweeney Todd
A dark musical drama, where you can see Tim Burton handywork is there (just like the night before X'mas). Played by Johny Depp, Helena B Carter & Alan Rickman.
A glimp of brightness in the film is only when Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker (Johny Depp) the barber was still with his wife & baby daughter and Judge Turpin has not set his eyes on Benjamin Barker's wife. As when the judge set his eyes on Barker's wife, the barber's life was turned upside down, he was accused of a crime he didn't commit sent to a far away prison, his wife was raped and his baby was taken by the judge.
Once he came back to London he went to his old barbershop on the 2nd floor as on the 1st floor was Mrs Lovett's Meat pie shop where she sold her worst pies in London, and she told him about what has happened to his baby and wife who after the ordeal drank poison. Sweeney Todd is looking a way to kill the judge for revenge, but in time he lost his mind and killing lots of people (his customers) and dumping the body downstairs as Mrs Lovett's supply of meat.

you could consider it as a horror movie, but it doesn't really show a real gruesome death just by pictures, but very suspencefull and creepy. Written by Stpehen King and played by John Cussack and Samuel L Jackson.
It's about a writer who turned to be a writer of hounted places, and now his project is writing about hounted hotels, but he himself doesn't believe in ghosts as he has never seen one until he entered the 1408 room in a NY hotel, the evil room.
- Mad Money
- How I met your Mother (season 2), the last 3 discs
it's a sitcom of a father telling his 2 children on how he met their mother, but in a long-long version way.
5 best friends, 2 are seeing each other since college, 1 is a happy single playboy and the other 2 were seeing each other too but the last 2 for sure are breaking up becoz it's the father who told the story and he reffered this GF to his children as aunt Robin, and up until season 2 he still haven't told about how he met their mother :D I enjoyed the sitcom, esp while trying to dozing off to sleep and the next day is work day.

A family film, a good entertainment in a weekend from DVD. After watching this film, I'll never touch my eyebrows with my fingers in the same way again :D

Bridget (Diane Keaton), a full time mom of two children in college from a middle up family in the sub-urb has to come back to work force as a janitor in the Federal Reserve Bank coz her hubby (Ted Danson) in fired from his job with a loan of $90K.
After looking at all those old money being destroyed by the bank, she is tempted to stole them with the help of 2 other staffs : Nina (Queen Latifah) & Jackie. Their code for action is brushing their eyebrows with their fingers ;) The movie itself is very predictable but quite entertaining.
