We left Harris Resort at check out time, with our friend’s family straight to Ubud.
It took around 1 hour from Kuta to Ubud.
Ubud is in Gianyar area, known as the central of the Balinese culture, even our friend said he sometimes went to Ubud to let go of his need to paint there.
The same thing for me as walking down Kuta beach at day time, I’ve never went to Ubud before this trip. I always thought of it as a remote place and mostly rural, I was not expecting to see cafes and boutiqes in a row of the road, but that’s exactly what I saw. It’s not as crowded as Kuta for sure, but it certainly has developed to meet the needs of tourism.
Our hotel |
After putting down our luggage at the hotel we went straight to Lake Batur, oh.. the name of the hotel is Taman Sakti. We didn’t really go to Lake Batur as we went to Lake Bratan, we only saw the lake from the top, known as the best place to look at the lake, the place is named Penelokan.
One thing our friend kept reminding us while our trip in Bali was to never touch the things sold by the vendors in Lake Batur if you don’t seriously will buy it, since they would be really angry if you have touched their goods such as souvenirs and not buying them. I followed the tip dilligently as I don’t want to give us any trouble with these vendors.
At Penelokan we chose this little place which sells instant noodle and soft drinks, why we chose this place? Coz it’s located at the edge, having a view of the beautiful lake and mountain, especially it has this outdoor second story which allow us to go up and took some interesting pictures as well.
Satisfied taking pictures there, we went back to Ubud, had our dinner at Bebek Bengil, it’s a really romantic restaurant, tables are devided in places some are even standing on their own, lamps are only used around the tables area, most of the place are quite dark dimly lit by small lantern almost as candles. After sitting on our table we just realized the surroundings are padi field, it’s quite something, I wonder how it looked like during day time, though I’m sure it’s not going to as romantic as it is at night.
We took the packet which consist of tom yam soup as the appetizer, the most delicious offcourse would be the main course of the really crispy fried duck which the portion at first looked too big for me but to my surprise was able to finished it since it’s really really good, and had a piece of tiramisu for the desert.
Having a full stomach we went back to the hotel and had a creepy time of my life finding a gecho in our bedroom.
Being a person who is disgusted and always freeked out at the sight of gecho I asked my husband and his friend to the rescue, and both of them turned out to be my hero of the night for setting the gecho out of the room, thanks alot guys it meant alot to me J
Now is the time to sleep...
